Dusk in the Woods [Through My Lens Nr. 161]

I really love this magical time of day, when the sun has set, but night hasn't rolled in yet. Dusk creates a wonderful intense mix of colors and feelings. Especially in a location like this, which is far away from the bright lights and noise of the city. I took these images with my phone camera since it was a spur of the moment trip to the hills above Mostar, but in the end, though they may not me the best in quality, they sure capture the lightheartedness of the moment. On the way back to the city, the night had set already and the familiar glow of the nightlife had replaced the vibrant colors of the sunset.

Thank you all for joining me in another week of "Through My Lens". I am looking forward to your submissions this week. I hope you will have a good one!

Red Bull Cliff Diving in Mostar 2018 [Through My Lens Nr. 160]

This past weekend, Mostar was again the host of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series event where competitors leap from a UNESCO World Heritage site. Mostar holds a special place in the divers' hearts because of the traditional annual jumping competition that is held here regardless of the Red Bull event. This event though is centered on the 16th-century Stari Most bridge, which has a diving tradition stretching back almost 450 years. In a city with such a strong diving heritage, everyone wants to deliver a winning effort. The crowds gather in the city and there was a lot of activity during the weekend. Here are some snapshots from the event!

Sunset in the Kupres Valley [Through My Lens Nr. 159]

Kupres is a small town in Western Bosnia and Herzegovina. Located in a picturesque mountain setting it is a famous ski resort with most visitors coming from Dalmatia and Herzegovina, mostly because of Kupres's proximity to those regions. During a recent drive I got to take these wonderful landscape images. The mountain air is very crisp and fresh and just as I parked the car and took the camera out, the sun started to set over the valley. I especially liked the clouds and sky here, seemingly never ending, leading your eye into the distance, propelling you into a dream like state.

Thank you all for joining me in another week of "Through My Lens". I am looking forward to your submissions this week. I hope you will have a good one!

Relaxing on the river Neretva [Through My Lens Nr. 158]

I have shown you Glavaticevo on this blog before. It's a small village located in the slopes of mountain Prenj and right along the wild river Neretva. There you can find this small, river side, restaurant called "Vrelo Biser" (translated "Pearl Spring"). It can be found after entering Glavaticevo after crossing a bridge that leads out of the village. Right after the bridge, you have to turn left, drive to a small gate to the parking spot. This place is run by a married couple and while it doesn't offer much food, what's there is well worth eating.

Thank you all for joining me in another week of "Through My Lens". I am looking forward to your submissions this week. I hope you will have a good one!
